The 2015 Kelly Gang Shootout Results
The 10th Kelly Gang Shootout was held at Tocumwal Golf Club over the weekend of July 18 & 19, 2015 and was a helmet-full of fun for all involved. Six unscrupulous teams lined up for a 4-player per team shootout with 2-ball ambrose on the Saturday and 4-ball ambrose on the Sunday making it a 54-hole event. The teams were:
The Glenrowan Hacks: Mark Henderson, Tom Tomlin, Brian Davis & Matthew Pitt
The Beechworth Boys: Gavan Doran, Pete Russell, Ian Steer & David Tarlinton
The Jerilderie Gents: Darren Nelson, Rob Lugton, Adrian Smithwick & Lee Dodge
The Frosty Beveridges: Shane Morris, Mark Cullen, Bob Spicer & Joe Bugeja
The Greta Mob: Joel Matthews, Craig Spackman, Tony Williamson & Roger Templer
The Benalla Burglars: Brett Nichols, Neil Williams, Glen Farren & Scott McCormack

When: Saturday & Sunday July 18 & 19
Where: The Tocumwal Golf Club
What: A 36-hole siege for teams of four playing two & four-ball ambrose
Why: For loads of fun, camaraderie, adventure, glory, trophies & prizes
Entry: $375 per person for a three-day package.

After a thrilling weekend of golf and jocularity, a great time was had by all and The Greta Mob stole the championship with a gutsy display of ball-striking on day two to hold on to a narrow lead over the closing holes on Sunday. In one of the closest KGS’s ever played, there was just five shots between the six teams after Saturday and just two shot separated the top three teams at the finish. Below we see the 2015 champs (Tony Williamson, Joel Matthews, Roger Templer and Craig Spackman) posing with The Glenrowan Perpetual Trophy.
