The 2008 Kelly Gang Shootout Results

The 3rd Kelly Gang Shootout was held at Tocumwal Golf Club over the weekend of July 19 & 20, 2008 and was a helmet-full of fun for all involved. Five unscrupulous teams lined up for a 4-player per team shootout with 2-ball ambrose on the Saturday and 4-ball ambrose on the Sunday making it a 54-hole event. The teams were:

The Glenrowan Hacks: Roger Brown, Wade Jones & Geoff Cutting
The Frosty Beveridges: Scott Wilson, Richard Fellner, Mick Van Raay & Ian Crotty
The Beechworth Boys: David Regenspurger, Matthew Thomas, Shane Morris & Brian Davis
The Stringybark Creek Freaks: John Lazzara, Andy MacFeate, Matthew Pitt & Rob Lugton
The Jerilderie Gents: Dave Warwick, Dave Pollock, Phil Peacock & Mick Winterling

When: July 19 & 20, 2008
Where: The Tocumwal Golf Club
What: 36 holes of mayhem over two days
How: Staying at The Tocumwal Golf Motor Inn
Wheels: In luxury golf carts all the way

After a thrilling weekend of golf and jocularity, a great time was had by all and The Beechworth Boys stole the championship with a dazzling display of ball-striking and a super final round of 9-under par in very challenging conditions. Below we see the new champs (Brian, Dave, Shane & Matt) parading some of their booty.
