Bushranger Golf Handicap Days - Victoria
Bushranger Golf Handicap Days are an opportunity for a fun social round of golf with friends, with the added bonus that it is an official BRG individual social golf event that counts towards players’ official Australian handicaps. For those without a handicap, it is a chance to gather one of the five scorecards required to get started. It is also an opportunity for members to accumulate points in the Vic BRG Player of the Year (BRG POY) award.
From 2010, most of our Victorian HDs will be scheduled to coincide with events on the The SGA Tour. Players can simply enter the Tour event and entry in the Handicap is an extra $5 on top of the Tour event entry. We now also run WA Handicap Days as remote competitions in and around Perth where club delegates submit the results to BRG. To see the full list of Handicap Days planned, see below. For a full list of BRG events, go to the 2010 Event Schedule page.

About the Bushranger Golf Handicap Days
To retain your Australian Golf handicap, you need to submit a minimum of five scorecards per year. This is because the more often golfers submit their cards, the more up-to-date their handicap remain. If you play in five or more club competition rounds in the year, you are ok. Two cards can be from non-competition rounds, meaning players must compete in a minimum of three club competition rounds per year to retain their handicap.
Bushranger Golf Handicap Days are our club competition rounds to help members fulfil Golf Australia’s handicap requirements. After the round, we will enter the results on GOLF Link and the system will automatically adjust and update players' handicaps. We are based in Victoria, however we now also run WA Handicap Days as remote competitions in and around Perth where club delegates submit the results to BRG.
For BRG members compiling their five scorecards to qualify for their initial handicap, this is an opportunity to play a round and submit a card. In Victoria, players who are members of BRG, are compiling cards for a handicap and have played in other BRG competitions (and hence are known to the handicapper), can compete for the prizes on the day playing off a provisional handicap as allocated by the BRG handicapper. Members of other clubs with current official handicaps are welcome to join in the fun and the competition. Golfers who do not hold an official handicap are welcome to join in for the day, however they cannot compete in the competition for the prizes on the day.
FYI, the maximum Australian Handicap is 36 for men and 45 for women. Individual clubs can decide whether they allow handicaps above these numbers in their competitions. At the Bushranger Golf Social Club, we allow men's handicaps up to 36 and women's handicaps up to 45 in our social events. Listed below are the terms and conditions for playing in BRG Victorian Handicap Days.
Thanks and good golfing! Cheers,
Matthew Pitt
