The 2008 Bushranger Cup Results
The 5th annual Bushranger Cup was held in the Shiraz-drenched paradise of Heathcote, on the weekend of April 11, 12 & 13, 2008. It was the first time the event has been contested in the heart of Bushranger country in the goldfields of central Victoria. The tight fairways and slick greens at the Heathcote Golf Club kept the scoring very close, with three shots separating the top three teams.

In a stunning performance, The Captain Moonlite Gang bolted away to a five stroke lead on Saturday evening thanks to a scorching round of 64 from the Hominator and Larry in the two-ball.
On Sunday in the four-ball, Arbeige carried the team almost single-handedly and held on for a thrilling one stroke victory from the fast finishing Stringybark Creek Freaks who stormed home with a final round 63. Alas the Freaks had four jabs at a tieing birdie putt on 18 and all came up short.
It is the closest Bushranger Cup in history, easily eclipsing the three shot margin in 2007. The Ben Hall Gang shrugged off their revolving door policy hoodoo and to finish two shots further back in third place after posting three scores in the sixties. It is the first time anyone has scored a repeat win at The Bushranger Cup, with the same four players winning together in 2006 in Corowa.
