The 2019 Kelly Gang Shootout Results

The 14th Kelly Gang Shootout was held at TocumwalGolf Club over the weekend of July 20 & 21, 2019 and was a helmet-full of fun for all involved. Nine unscrupulous teams lined up for a 4-player per team shootout with 2-ball ambrose on the Saturday and 4-ball ambrose on the Sunday making it a 54-hole event. The teams were:

The Glenrowan Hacks: Mark Henderson, Leon Doyle, Aaron Henderson & Shane Lawlor
The Euroa Removalists: Gavan Doran, Wade Jones, Paul White & Pete Calverley
The Beechworth Boys: Matthew Thomas, Gary Dunn, Darren Nelson & Dean Mitchell
The Frosty Beveridges: Shane Morris, Johnny Morris, Kent Davies & Adrian Gaudie
The Mansfield Wombats: Matthew Pitt, Pete Russell, Ian Steer & Cam Thompson
The Jerilderie Gents: Joel Matthews, Roger Templer, Dean Connell & Brett Davies
The Avenel Gang: Dennis Williams, Jodene Tuau, Sharon Morrell & Steve Morrell
The Benalla Burglars: Nick Randone, Alex Austin, Ashley Davis & Brendan Davis
The Corowa Borrowers: Richard Dalton, Karen Dalton, Mick Brown & Mandy Brown

When: Saturday & Sunday July 20 & 21
Where: The Tocumwal Golf Club
What: A 36-hole siege for teams of four playing two & four-ball ambrose
Why: For loads of fun, camaraderie, adventure, glory, trophies & prizes
Extras: A warm up event from noon at Toke on Friday ($30 pp & $20 pp for carts)

After a thrilling weekend of golf and jocularity, a great time was had by all and The Corowa Borrowers (above: Mick Brown, Mandy Brown, Karen Dalton & Richard Dalton) stole the championship with a dazzling display of ball-striking on the weekend to set up a big lead that they managed to cling to on Sunday as the swoopers came charging after them.
