2012 Bushranger Golf Victorian Player of the Year Results

For the second time we have had a tie in the BRG POY with a ding-dong battle that came down to the last event of the year. When the dust had settled, 2010 winner Rob Lugton had another great year after a disappointing 2011 and BRG impresario Matthew Pitt benefited from some severe weight of numbers with more event entries than any other player and some patches of good form through the year that bagged him some vital points. Rounding out the top six, perennial contender Neil Hocking took third place, followed by Nick Mouhtaropoulos, Nick Sutherland and Andy Hewlett who all had a great year.

Above we see the happy 2012 BRG Vic POY winner, Rob Lugton receiving the POY Perpetual Trophy from our friend Andy Lee at the SGA Tour (Vic) 2010 Tour Championship at Kingston Heath. Luggo has created history in 2010 with his unprecedented clean sweep of the BRG Major Titles with wins in the team events at the 2010 Bushranger Cup, Kelly Gang Shootout and William Buckley Classic. In December 2010, he put the icing on the cake by sealing victory in the Player of the Year (POY) title. Below are the results for the top 25 plus ties in the 2012 POY.
